About

For the Culture

I’m narrowing cultural gaps in healthcare one project at a time.

I didn’t realize that this small project was going to evolve so much and be as significant as it has become.

My inspiration was watching my mother navigate the American healthcare system without a way to advocate for herself. My mother speaks limited English and I got to witness first-hand how the healthcare system has failed her in many ways. I want to do everything in my power so that others do not have a similar experience.

I help patients one-on-one and I also consult for various public health and maternal/pediatric health projects.

Haitian Dietitian
Olguyne Fernandez-Fraga

Owner and Provider

Olguyne originally founded The Haitian Nutritionist in 2021 to provide nutrition consulting services to the Haitian and the Haitian-American community. With a profound belief in the transformative power of food and nutrition, Olguyne educates, motivates, and supports clients on their journey to improved well-being. Due to the demand, my practice is evolving to focus on women’s uterine health and infant nutrition.

My Nutrition Philosophy

I specialize in using food and nutrition to manage disease and support whole-body health. My approach goes beyond numbers on a scale—I help you reconnect with your body, build sustainable habits, and make choices that support your health for the long haul. I have no products to sell, no ties to supplement or medication companies, and no hidden agendas. My only goal is to share evidence-based guidance so you can nourish your body in a way that feels both empowering and realistic. My mission is to equip you with the tools and confidence to eventually not need me—because true success is building a relationship with food and your body that lasts. Many people already know what to eat, but they struggle with how to make it work in everyday life. Others feel discouraged by all the conflicting advice out there. I’m here to help you cut through the noise, quiet the pressure to chase external metrics, and instead focus on what truly matters: feeling well, honoring your body’s needs, and making consistent choices you can maintain. I don’t believe in quick fixes. I believe in helping you create lasting change. When you’re ready to ditch the diet roller coaster and start tuning in to what your body really needs, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
